Gear Review: Deux North Hunting Jacket

Gear Review: Deux North Hunting Jacket

Deux North isn't synonymous with women's cycling. Their famous "hunts" feature all male casts, with the occasion woman in a supporting role. That's why we were so happy when they approached Pretty Damned Fast to test out their new Hunting Jacket and be a part of the spring lookbook shoot. The truth is that many products function perfectly well no matter who the rider is. Case in point, the beautiful Cannondale Super Six that I ride (pictured throughout).

Enter the unisex Hunting Jacket, fabricated by Sommerville Sports from high quality Italian fabric. It is ultra lightweight and super packable. It's wind and rain resistant, and features reflective piping. Polished but not boring, it is a truly versatile layer that any road cyclist could use. We shot on a chilly spring day and the jacket kept my core warm, but the wind resistance did not cause me to overheat or feel sweaty.

While this is a unisex offering, we look forward to Deux North offering a women's range. Their designs are on point and their enthusiasm for the sport and the lifestyle is incredibly genuine. When brands with the reach the Deux North have turn their focus to the women's market, the consequences can be huge. We think that nothing pairs better with Deux North than race braids, keep up the good work!
